Something not working, or an idea for Semla? Email hello@semlastorage.app. We read everything, and a screenshot helps.
Where your storages are kept
Signed in: your storages are saved to your account (on servers in the EU) and show up on every device where you sign in with the same email.
Not signed in: everything stays in the browser on this device only. Save a backup file now and then (Settings, then Save backup file).
See the privacy policy for what we keep and why.
Moving to a new phone
Signed in: open semlastorage.app/app on the new phone and sign in with the same email. Your storages come along.
Not signed in: on the old phone, open Semla, tap Settings, then Save backup file. Send the file to yourself (email, AirDrop, cloud drive). On the new phone, open Semla, tap Settings, then Restore from a file and pick it.
I used Semla at the old test address
If you tried Semla at msqra-semla.semla.workers.dev, your storages are saved there. Open that address, save a backup (Settings, then Save backup file), then open semlastorage.app/app and restore it there.
Putting Semla on your home screen
iPhone or iPad: open semlastorage.app/app in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Android: open it in Chrome, open the menu (⋮), then Install app.
My storages are gone
If you're signed in, check that you used the same email as before. If you weren't signed in: clearing the browser's data, using a private window, or opening Semla in a different browser shows an empty Semla. Restore your latest backup file to get them back.
Printing labels
On the storage picker, tap ⋯ then Print box labels. Any printer and plain paper will do. Scanning a label with the phone camera opens Semla on that box, on a device where the storage is saved.
